Roger's final draft included:
"You can't stay in your corner of the Forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes"
Winnie the Pooh's philosophy emphasizes that travel and journeys are transformative, teaching us to embrace change, cherish memories, and appreciate the people we meet
. Through simple wisdom, Pooh teaches that leaving familiar places allows us to grow, often finding that the journey itself changes our hearts and perspectives. Our journeys have reinforced all of the above. Friendly and helpful people in all parts of the world have been willing to reach out to us to offer advice, lend a hand, or speak to us using our language rather than their own. Young people especially seem to enjoy challenging themselves by practicing their English while assisting us.
Our travels can be interesting and uncertain at times, but the challenges often lead to some of our best experiences and memories.
In the end we are reminded that people in general are much more alike than they are different. Most are just trying to do the best they can for the ones they love…just like everyone we have ever known back home in Michigan. Maybe the best and possibly the only way to really learn this is by actually experiencing it.
Our perspective gradually changes and our hearts follow.
We welcome opportunities to return some of the goodwill and kindness that has been shown to us by welcoming and assisting travelers to our part of the world.
